We’re thrilled to introduce our newest service at Branz Nutrition Counseling – Recovery Coaching! In this post, we’ll delve into the comprehensive support that our recovery coach, Niki Thomson, provides and how their expertise enhances the journey to recovery and well-being.
Niki holds a Master’s in Nutrition and Physical Performance, completed at Saint Louis University. Her coaching approach is centered on active listening, motivational interviewing, and building self-efficacy.
Here’s what our Recovery Coach, Niki, offers:
Weekly 30-minute Check-In:
Recognizing the value of consistent support, Niki provides a dedicated space for a weekly 30-minute check-in. This session allows clients to discuss progress, navigate challenges, and celebrate victories, fostering a sense of accountability and encouragement.
Assistance with Reinforcing Dietitian Recommendations
One of the most significant components that our Recovery Coaching provides is having extra support outside of dietitian sessions. You’ll have another person in your support circle to reinforce the goals that your dietitian has set up for you.
Presence and Support During Meal/Snack Times:
Meal and snack times can be challenging, but Niki offers support by being present during these moments. You don’t have to face the uncomfortable emotions around eating alone—she provides reassurance, guidance, and encouragement to help you feel grounded, manage anxiety, and gradually build a healthier relationship with food.
Shared Meals for Connection:
Enhancing the sense of connection and understanding, Niki and clients have the option to share meals together. This shared experience fosters a supportive relationship and helps break down barriers often associated with mealtime challenges.
Grocery Store Navigation and Assistance:
Navigating the grocery store, especially during the recovery process, can be overwhelming. Niki offers practical assistance, guiding clients through the aisles, helping them make informed choices, and transforming grocery trips into empowering experiences.
Chat Support:
Understanding that support is needed beyond scheduled check-ins, Niki provides chat support. Whether it’s a quick question, a moment of uncertainty, or a celebration, clients can reach out to Niki for real-time encouragement and guidance.
Niki’s dedication to active and personalized coaching aligns seamlessly with our commitment to providing the comprehensive care you deserve. Let’s embark on this journey together towards a healthier, happier you!
